Katherine Jeng (she/her) is a junior at Hanszen majoring in English (with a concentration in Culture and Social Change) and Social Policy Analysis, as well as pursuing a minor in Politics, Law, & Social Thought. She serves as the co-president of the EUA and editor-in-chief for Rice's award-winning literary journal, Rice Review. Her favorite literary genres are historical fiction (especially modern retellings of Greco-Roman mythology), and poetry. Her research interests and academic coursework is primarily focused on race and social change. Last summer, she studied abroad at the University of Oxford reading prison literature (with authors like Oscar Wilde, Martin Luther King Jr., and John Bunyan) for five weeks in a direct experience of Oxford’s traditional approach to university education.
