Executive Director of Development and Team Lead Jeanette Zey fosters relationships between alumni and friends of the School of Humanities, connecting their philanthropic and volunteer interests with the dean’s priorities and initiatives.
To provide a remarkable education for our students — one that features international experiences, post-doctoral fellowships, graduate student support, excellent faculty retention and dynamic research by students and faculty — the School of Humanities relies on the engagement and generosity of our community of support. To facilitate and maximize the impact of this support, Jeanette works directly with alumni volunteers, advisory board members and friends of the School of Humanities, active and potential hosts for student internships and externships, the dean, faculty members and program directors at the School of Humanities, and university officials and colleagues in Development and Alumni Relations.
A native Houstonian, Jeanette received her Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981. She moved to the nonprofit sector after eight years in the corporate and small business world. A development professional since 1992, she joined Rice in 2001 and has served as development officer for the Dallas-Fort Worth region and for the School of Humanities. She holds the Certified Fundraising Executive credential from CFRE International.
