Humanities Encouraging Diversity in post-Graduation Employment (HEDGE) supports undergraduates with translating their humanities education to a professional environment. The program offers health, law, professional, and funding opportunities. Participating students are also introduced to a variety of industries through career panels, workshops, externships, networking dinners, and other opportunities involving Rice alumni.

Health Practicum provides undergraduate students in the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences with the opportunity to assist in research at various institutions within the Texas Medical Center, giving them valuable experience in a variety of medical and public health settings, research institutes, and centers. (2018-19 application deadline is March 28, 2018).
Judicial/Law Practicum provides opportunities in the field of law to undergraduate students in the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences. The program offers a structured professional experience with faculty, staff, and alumni support. (Fall 2018 deadline is April 1, 2018).
Summer Internship Funding is available for un/under-paid, professional internships independently obtained by Humanities majors. (Summer 2018 deadline is March 31, 2018).
Summer Professional Internships provide undergraduate Humanities majors opportunities to gain workplace experience and expand their understanding of a Humanities degree in the working world.Â
Arts and Culture Internships provide undergraduate students in (all majors) with the opportunity to gain workplace experience at The Menil Collection, Asia Society Texas Center, and the Holocaust Museum.
Beyond the Hedge Internships are various opportunities not managed by the HEDGE program, but whom are actively seeking Humanities applicants.
