Paige Matthys-Pearce is a senior French and Francophone Studies major and Math minor at Rice University. When she’s not dancing her way through the vast gardens of language, poetry and music from around the world, she’s either supporting her peers on their French learning journeys as a French Language Consultant with the Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication, catching up with friends abroad whom she met during Rice in France and Rice in Jordan study abroad programs (in French, Farsi, and Arabic), or collaboratively reimagining academia through the lens of the culture of care via her multilingual initiative “Culture of Care Conversation Circles” sponsored by the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.
Following graduation, Paige intends to further her study and practice of innovative language education that promotes language justice and community well-being.
