Chi Pham is a junior at Will Rice College majoring in English, Cognitive Sciences and Media Studies. Born in Biên Hòa, Vietnam, and raised in Klein, Texas, his writing appears in Best New Poets 2025 and SmokeLong Quarterly. In 2025, he received a commendation from the Adroit Prize for Poetry.
At Rice, Pham has twice received the Susan Wood Prize in Poetry, as well as a Larry McMurtry Prize in Fiction, R2’s George G. Williams Award, and Student Media’s Reverend Paul Frederick Bobb Award for Feature Writing. He serves as Arts & Entertainment Editor of The Rice Thresher.
A Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow interested in cultural studies, he was a 2025–2026 Fondren Fellow with SEL: Studies in English Literature 1500–1900, researching the formation of institutional authority through editorial networks and gatekeepers.
