Global Expertise

Our scholarly and teaching expertise is global in scope

Our Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication offers courses in 10 languages and faculty-led summer study abroad programs that allow students to earn credit while studying a language and experiencing another culture. Our Department of Modern and Classical Literatures and Cultures offers language-based humanities inquiry and provides opportunities for students to pursue comparative or cross-cultural study, from ancient Greece to the contemporary Americas. Our Department of Transnational Asian Studies builds upon the standard set by our T.T. and W.F. Chao Center for Asian Studies, with an explicitly transnational focus emphasizing its faculty’s continent-spanning work.
