Ellen is currently (fall 2024) a sophomore at Lovett, majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing and minoring in PLST. Ellen’s favorite authors are Pai Hsien-yung, Thomas Wolfe, and Annie Ernaux. Born in the UK and raised in China, Ellen is determined not to be US-centric while doing humanities research. A fun fact is that Ellen (trying to) is able to speak four languages.

Research interests: Asian queer studies, prostitution history and rights, Chinese feminism, Dunhuang Studies, etc.
