History Major | Poverty, Justice and Human Capabilities Minor

Hello! My name is Noura Oseguera Arasmou. I am a sophomore at Duncan college majoring in Philosophy and History, and minoring in PJHC with a Certificate in Civic Leadership, on the pre-law track. My interests lie at the intersection between immigration policy, human rights law, and the criminal justice system. I am particularly interested in the ways in which mass incarceration and the treatment of immigrants—especially in the U.S.-Mexico border—reflects systematic dehumanization and institutional neglect. I want to explore how policies in U.S. prisons and border detention facilities contribute to the marginalization of these communities.
