The humanities are intellectually and creatively challenging because they are flexible areas of inquiry. If humans do it, we study it, or we will help you to study it. Our disciplines, interdisciplinary areas, and collaborations help you to go where your chosen problems take you. Our disciplines comprise conversations with those who came before us, and we respond to traditions and existing knowledge as we create new knowledge.
Students are encouraged to make their humanities major or minor their own. Research or an internship puts your unique stamp on your course of study. With research, you can go your own way, or faculty can take you where their own research is going. You might conduct research with a community partner organization and see your work make a direct impact. Research and internships bring students and faculty together with partners in Houston and around the world.
