Our ambitions for revitalizing the humanities and the arts at Rice and advancing excellence in graduate education include:

• Pursuing the creation of an interdisciplinary humanities PhD;
• Advancing graduate research opportunities through the re-founded Humanities Research Center;
• Working with Creative Writing faculty to launch a cutting-edge and community-engaged Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing; 
• Supporting efforts to initiate a new Master’s degree in Transnational Asian Studies, which highlights the unique transnational and multilingual focus of both the Chao Center for Asian Studies and the Department of Transnational Asian Studies;
• Creating a Medical Humanities graduate certificate program;
• Creating opportunities for graduate students to complete training and internships in public-facing humanities fields in order to prepare them for a wider range of careers post PhD.
